Fennel

Fennel has an aniseed flavour. Fennel can be finely sliced, grated raw or cooked stems can be added to salads or sandwiches. Also great roasted with garlic and oil. 

Scientific Name: Foeniculum vulgare

Seeds per Packet: Approximately 100-150 seeds per packet.

Growing Conditions: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0-7.0. Requires full sun.

Germination Rate: Around 75-85%.

Days to Maturity: 80-100 days.

Spacing: 30 cm between plants, 45 cm between rows.

Best Time to Sow: Sow in early spring or late summer in New Zealand, avoiding the hottest part of summer for the best bulb formation.
